The Initiation
In the second year of my college life, I got the opportunity to showcase my creativity through the world of drama. I was the Director of a drama society called "The Third Act".Since then i have written screenplays and directed and performed in few short films for film fests and skits. Our main strength was Silent plays. Two of the most notable are mentioned below.
Act I The Blind Boy
I directed and acted as a lead in a small skit performed by our group for an organ donation seminar that was held in our college in 2012. The motive of the play was to bring to attention the advantages and necessasities of organ donation.
Act II The Deaf and Dumb
We performed a skit where i again was the lead as a deaf and dumb boy. This skit was performed in collaboration with the NGO Rythm of Nations(RON) for a school for the Deaf and Dumb. That experience was one of the most memorable. Did you know? When they are happy, they dont clap. Instead, they swing and wave their palms in the air. It was one of the most beautiful things i've ever seen.
Movie
We also made a few short films for some fests. One of them was a participation in an online advertisement contest for freelancer.com . We sent in a two minute advertisement which faired quiet well and was on the top 50 world wide.
